Aidan McHugh has taken out Scott Clayton in straight sets to get his first ATP point at just 16 years old.

Jack Molloy and Marshall Tutu lost in straight sets.

That's an impressive win from the young Mr McHugh. If I remember correctly, he's one of the ones who is still doing full-time education, no?

Aldan will now be our youngest ranked men's player ( 09/07/00 ), taking over from Ewen Lumsden ( 17/02/00 ).

The 2000 borns will now be one up on the 1999s, currently only represented by Alexander Carlos Parker (23/03/99 ).

Aidan came here on the back of winning the G4 title in Prague at the weekend.

Not a huge turnaround in terms of time and travel but still good to manage to puts wins back to back. Guess he was feeling confident

Nice for the Scottish home fans too.

Looking like a tough day for the Brits so far in Glasgow with McHugh, Willis and Pauffley all losing their respective 1st sets to non-GB opposition. Some signs of life though in set 2 and the comebacks are on.

Jay C took the 1st set against Marcus Walters.

Pauffers lost to the 2nd seed and Aidan McHugh lost to the 6th seed. I still think this is a week that will live long in the memory for McHugh.
