Do you think the seeds in the doubles are true to the players? Are they the strongest there?

As much as is singles. It's based on rankings. The confounding factor to me is that players don't enter doubles routinely, and so the benchmark is not as well established. A lucky draw, say against local wildcards, or other similar factors have a more disproportionate effect than even in singles. Also some players can get a higher ranking than that of which they seem otherwise deserving from winning occasional round at WTA events using their singles ranking as entry.

As for here, GB interest is over, despite a 'win' against the top seeds.

R16: Christie/Reix (GBR/FRA) 677 defeated Muhammad/Townsend (USA/USA) [1] 118 1-1 RET

QF: (Q) Dunne/Hon (GBR/AUS) 855 lost to (WC) Bains/Tomic (AUS/AUS) 948     7-5 5-7 [3-10]
QF: Christie/Reix (GBR/FRA) 677 lost to Bai/Wongteanchai (AUS/THA) 307 6-7(6) 2-6

To be fair with qualifying due to start over the weekend in Launceston neither Freya nor Katy would really want to be bogged down in doubles here.
