Joe and Luke presumably aiming for doubles success - I assume together... singles just a bonus

Both will end up as doubles specialists.

LOL. After two months of speculation and endless hand-wringing by me about Cam Norrie wanting to play in Maui, the draw was released last night and he's apparently withdrawn. Maybe Coach Roditi and Cam were just toying with his fans - he WAS on the acceptance list - but he (apparently) didn't fly out there from Chicago yesterday and will instead be in Tulsa for TCU's match today. So, good luck to Bambo and Salisbury (Finn Tearney's there too), but Cam is now back in college (for at least 6 months). Sorry for misleading everyone!

While I guess you are right about Luke I do feel that this another case of a good youngster slipping through the net. There is so much about his singles game that has always looked good and by almost all accounts he is a hard working guy with a good attitude but for whatever reason his singles career just hasn't developed in the way that I, and many others, thought it would.

If you look back at the 93-95 born players we had George, Kyle, Liam, Luke and Oli who all had pretty good junior careers but so far only Kyle has gone on to a good singles level as an adult. It is a very disappointing "conversion" rate.

Absolutely. And I would add JWH to that list (ex-top 10 Junior, born 1994).
Frankly, if you're the LTA, you might as well give up throwing money at juniors if that's all the return you're going to get.....

Could he be playing for TCU and then flying on Monday as the tournament doesn't start till Tuesday and he had got to the point of making the Main Draw.

Possibly. The main draw hasn't been released yet. TCU's next match isn't until 1/28, so he might still try to fit it in. But I've given up trying to predict his schedule - your guess is as good as mine.  I was completely surprised when he walked out on the Northwestern courts Friday night.  Having never met him, he was taller than I thought.  He played well though - that lefty serve is wicked.

You're right!  Cam is in the main draw against James McGee, from Dublin, who has a current ATP ranking of #205, with a CH of #146.  Probably Tuesday.

Good to see Joe feeling he can give singles a go at all. When he was only playing doubles in futures at the start of the year someone said this was because of injury related issues.

McGee is a solid test to start up with, he's been about a bit and had a wonderful US Open run in 2015.
