QR2:  (q1) Ilya Ivashka (BLR) WR 177 (CH = 167 last September) vs Ed Corrie WR 272

I don't hold out much hope for his chances there, though Ivashka was taken to three sets by the WR 336! no

Ed nailed it, 6-2 in the third smilesmilesmile

As per the norm at this time of year some great wins needed for both one of whom will now get 5 points for qualifying the other hopefully get a LL spot. The main draw isn't any kinder some top class players will probably minimise any points gains for them both. Probably better if Ed comes through he will drop down to 350-400 in the rankings more than likely once he gets to having to defend his Drummondsville final V Evo last year.

Pleased about that.  Only trouble now is:

FQR:   Ed Corrie WR 272 vs Lloyd Glasspool WR 364

Whoops!  Too much cab sav at lunch!

That's so unfair, the #1 seed still going through to play Lloyd. There was a time when you win a match you advance, but guess not ...

The fall out from his tweets are rather gaining a lot of attention over on MTF.  Why on earth did he have to drag Murray into something petty like this. I think Murray will distance himself from these comments.

I'm no English spelling nazi, as most of you will know by now being a native Nordic, but seriously, getting a scholarship to the states to study and cannot even use your and you're properly.

Dear me.

I am sure that Lloyd must be devastated that he is getting a bit of stick on MTF. As for Andy, he hasn't been dragged into anything and I would imagine that he will completely ignore it.

Making a mountain out of a mole hill - its a daft tweet that means nothing. He later said that the win was a great effort but people are too interested in trying to stir somethin up. Disappointed that it's even been considered worthy of comment

 This is not true.

Saying essentially on twitter that you have ill feelings towards somebody, let alone a fellow person in your profession is very unprofessional. The comments do not appear to be in jest either.  There are plenty of people I dislike, and also believe allegations about, but I would not say it on twitter if was in his position.  Where this has backfired is that it says more about Lloyd than it does about Zverev.  Really cannot not imagine any other tennis player saying such a thing, this is something you'd expect from a footballer on twitter.

Cannot not imagine Borg, Nadal, Fed, or even more lively characters like Mac or Safin doing it either. Poor form on Lloyds' part.

As I said, it's a stupid and unnecessary tweet which would have been better unsaid. But the response to a comment from a relatively low ranked player seems over the top. Move along, nothing to see here. Maybe he'll think before he tweets next time..

Looks like he'll be off this thread soon anyway

Well if he is going to make it the  Ilya Ivashka match is just the kind he should be trying to win this year.

Don't know where the Ivashka resurgence rumours came from - gremlins, I think....

From what I can see, Ed has just beaten Lloyd 6-2 7-5 in the FQR.

With these 5 qualifying points Ed will join Cam on 191 ranking points, GB #5 & 6, currently in the 260s in live rankings, both now in Challenger R1s.

Lukas Rosol still doing the rounds, he must rank as one of the no plan B ball bashers of all time.
