I don't know if James Ward remained entered and has just missed out. The last qualifying direct acceptance is shown on the drawsheet as the WR 464. James is WR 465.

Glassvegas really needs to up his game. From what I have heard, his serve is a great weapon, but his ground strokes are of a futures standard. He would do well to ever be a top 100 player and will probs peak at challenger level.

Lloyd is about to win in 3.

Big serve, good hands. Potential to go well at challenger level.

Good solid win for Lloyd. This is a really tough qualifying draw so it would be a good sign if he could come through it.

QR2:  (q1) Ilya Ivashka (BLR) WR 177 (CH = 167 last September) vs Ed Corrie WR 272

I don't hold out much hope for his chances there, though Ivashka was taken to three sets by the WR 336! no

Not just tough qualies:  the qualifiers face the prospect of playing PHM (2), Stakhovsky (4), Rosol (6) or Kavcic (PR/WR 193 (CH = 68 in August 2012)!  cry

it's still essentially the same level as they've been used to playing last year where they had successes till losing form in the latter part of the season - we just have to hope they can regain it

One set all with Ed and Ivashka too.

And with Ed a break up at *2-1 in the third....
