Very well done Laura, great to see that serve working well again, and it sounds like the rest of her game is on track too.
I agree. The key does seem to be the serve. When it isn't firing, it looks awful and the rest of her game falls apart, like it AO qualies. It does seem psychological and as she now appears to be working on that side (inspired by Jo?) it may explain the upturn.
I'd just love to see her back to her best. She seems such a lovely girl and could have a really good future.
Great to see some improved form from Laura this tournament - getting that first win after a run of defeats was always going to be big and she has kept it going impressively today.
Her AO qualies match was terrible by all accounts, but I was impressed by how open she was in the interviews afterwards about how she was feeling.
Laura's match should be starting shortly. The match, I think will be streamed, not sure where but the Tennis366 youtube account has been uploading matches from the centre court, so we should get a visual on how Laura is playing at the moment.
just curious as to how you knew it was PockyTastic who had uploaded it?

He/she gave the name of the 'streamer' in a previous post - I didn't assume it was their work though it may have been ! I forget what it was now Teniss565 or something.
Really good to see Laura back to the retrieving and controlled attacking of Landisville and the US Open, plus such improved serving. And she was having that second set bagel however long the final game took
In between times since that brief Autumn spell form went worryingly away and be really good if she can maintain such a level over a period. Still way to go to find a really challenging level, but it looks so much about confidence and building from a good base.
Live rankings has Laura at 210, up 12, on 251 points. Nice to see the points being won and not from protected ranking entries
I saw that, I reckon she's up to 252 points, but a point isn't greatly here nor there.
All her 16 counters will now be more than one point and actually all but 5 Mandatory R1 10s ( 3 PRs, 2 WCs ) and her Australian Open QR1 2 points have involved winning at least one match, albeit her initial place may in the first half of last year quite often have been a PR or WC entry. I think, other than her US Open qualifying WC, that Wimbledon was the last time she entered a singles on PR or a WC ( WC in that case ).
So while these helped ( or not ) for a while ( and yes could be said to have held up her ranking ) and I know disgruntled some folk, she has been standing on her own feet for some time now.

Just to clarify I didn't upload or own that account, I just found it. It's a treasure trove of ITF women's matches - you can see some of Katy Dunnes matches from Australia, Gabi in Crete, Tara in Hong Kong.... anyway yay Laura!
