Week 5 entries -30/01/17

Maia is first alt now - I don't expect Katie to play any of these three events based on her tweet.

Wildcards will be out tomorrow pm -Maia and Eleanor Dean will be on this list.

Wild cards are out, and as predicted Maia and Eleanor have MDWC, along with Manisha Foster and Laura Sainsbury. There are six Brits listed in qualifying.

Presumably there's a reasonable chance that Maia will get in the main draw as of right. Which would free up a wildcard.

And also, presumably, Beth is first ALT now, barring SEs, as she was one behind Maia. So a chance she'll be in as of right too, come the weekend.

Ali Collins has a qualifying wildcard - big ask given she is on her way back from Aus.

On the Glasgow F1 entry list, there still appear to be only 7 GB entries, Clayton being the last and Gosea being our first alt. Is it likely to stay this way or will we get more GB players (regognising there will be WC and qualifiers to boost that number).? Have the Glasgow wild cards been announced yet?

Five men in the main draw at the moment (Clayton last), 20 in qualifying (Farris first, as you say). No wild cards showing on the ITF site yet. 17 of the first 20 alts are British (still 84 listed !!!), so there will be plenty of Brits around for the start of the week.

For some reason ITF men don't publish their wildcards.
Glasspool and Gabb and a few other non-Brits were late withdrawals hence why more Brits like Gosea have appeared in the main draw.

So the 4 wildcards will be British, so 10 GB men in the main draw plus qualifiers, just the 4 wildcards in the women's draw plus qualifiers at the moment unless there are more late withdrawals.
