I hadn't really appreciated that as well as being in Serena's quarter, having tricky Flipkens in R1 and now the very promising, and already relatively achieving, Osaka in R2, that Jo is bracketed with (17) Caroline Wozniacki for R3 ( the highest seed either could have potentially been up against in R3 ) and then (6) Dominika Cibulkova ( live ranking 4 ) for R4.
That is indeed quite a potential overall route.
I guess after seeing off Serena it will be (3) Radwanska in the SF and (1) the reigning champion Kerber in the final.

Pretty horrid, no? It's why some pundits predicted she'd have an underwhelming run. But I rather liked the one who flipped that on its head - and pointed out what a bad draw it was for everyone else near her!
Bad draw it may be this year for Jo, but it is worth reflecting on how things opened up for her last year; and, oh how she doing advantage.
I would also argue Serena has got a stinker, although still a fabulous player, I am sure she would rather be playing someone else in the QF's here's hoping she doesn't get that option!
Reckon Jo and Heather can win their games, mustnt underestimate their opponents though. But there is a feel good factor at the moment and I reckon a wave will be road by the guys playing tomorrow as well
Following on from the earlier discussions re Naomi's need for some coaching, The Times states she is now working with a new French coach, Jerome Adamec
Naomi was on five live sports extra this morning on the commentary of Dan Evans match. There was quite a good 10 minute or so chat with her when she first came on about 1 hour 47 mins into the programme.
After winning 8 points in a row to get 2-1 up Jo misses a backhand. that is followed by ace, unreturnable serve, then she stopped a rally to challenge an in call and won, finished the game off with another ace. 12 out of the last 13 points.
