Well that was abject....Laura looked totally uninterested for the most part, her serve has become a liability, the ball toss comes down with ice on it. Also, that Hesse is a tad obnoxious.
A score and a performance very much in keeping with everything to date in the comeback save for the two outlier weeks of Landisville and USO Q last year.
I can't honestly say that personally I can see any trends towards long term improvement, or any indication of what was worked on in the off season.
A few less games than I'd hoped for.
16% of all of Laura's serves were DF.
On to the next one, I suppose.
Hope Tara cheers us up.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
I really can't believe Laura's results post Landisville and the US open. Really thought that was the start of her climb back up the rankings. Very sad to see.
I would be very surprised if she doesn't pull out of fed cup. She would be more or less unplayable and I can't imagine she will want to go to just sit and watch.
Such a pity to see an almost 24 yo that has never entered the top 150 ease to victory over Laura like that.
So far away. Yet while these too few weeks last year were outliers, they were not illusions. I watched her at Landisville ( even with a relatively yippy service then ) and much of her game was suddenly in pretty good nick. Composure at building and ending rallies and she was 'on', chasing balls down with enthusiasm. So to hear that she looked "uninterested" quite apart from the form - what gives ?
Time is marching on, however relatively young Laura still is. It's becoming increasingly worrying
