I see that Finn Tearney went on to lose in MD R1 6-4 7-5 to the WR 58 Robin Haase (CH 33 in 2012) by 6-4 7-5 ( 2 breaks to 1 in each set, 8 BPs apiece ) so a very decent looking effort.
In spite of the unexplained apparently cryptic comment on it, I still stand by saying that it looked a rather bad loss by Cam against Tierney for the err rather simple reason that it looked to me a rather bad loss against Tierney.
But I am sure Cam will move quickly on and continue to improve and climb the rankings in time.
took it to the tiebreak and was 5-1 up but couldn't close it out then went a break down in the deciding set but broke back to take it to the tiebreak again and again got to 5-1 but made amends this time - fantastic win, must be close to a career best
Yes, that's a great looking win for Brydan and apparently a CH one, taking out his 2015 Manchester win against Marcos Baghdatis, then WR 59. I saw that Bagnis served for the match at *5-3 in the final set, at which point Brydan broke for the first time since that decisive first set.
Great win for Brydan. As mentioned he was 5-2* down in that set so served to stay in it 3 times as well as breaking. Great way to kick off his year and whilst Sousa will be tough, he's got a puncher'a chance in that one too.
Brydan seemed to go through a bit of a lull last season but these are good results. I think I am correct in saying that takes him to 6th in running in the GB mens list.
Interesting thing there is that of the top GB players numbers 4 to 6 are non British born (tell me if I am wrong) in Aljaz (Slovenia), Cam (NZ) and Brydan (Aussie). Kyle probably qualifies as well. I support all of those guys and love to see our GB players do well but it still doesnt say a great deal for the LTA development programmes yet. Hopefully Jay and Jonny and others will come through and turn that around.
I make Brydan 7th in running ( Cam 191, Ed 187, Brydan 180 ). Clearly will go 5th if he wins his R2 match.
He also has nothing to defend until June after early season injury last year then a few weeks until he put points on the board. So he has a few months where he can certainly move up the rankings.
Kyle yes South African born, but British development can certainly claim him. Andy largely Dunblane and Spain development.

100% agree with this, same for other sports like cricket.
Brydan loses 6-3 6-4. Good week for him though with a bit of a boost up the rankings. Looks like he'll stay down under as he's entered into the week 5 challenger in Australia.
