SF: (1) Andy Murray WR 1 defeated (3) Tomas Berdych (CZE) WR 10 by 3 & 4
*****
Final: (1) Andy Murray WR 1 vs (2) Novak Djokovic (SRB) WR 2 (CH = 1 in July 2011)
Andy started to make some inroads into the head-to-head last year with his victories over Djoko at the Rome Masters & the WTF last November, but the Serb still leads the head-to-head by 24-11. Even so, I expect the organisers & the sponsors are rubbing their hands together with glee at having the pair meet in their final.
This could be one of the more memorable meetings in terms of the dynamic between the two. Though, I can't see it having much of an effect on any potential Aussie meeting, as some seem to think.
I doubt it happens very often that the WR 1&2 meet in the final of an ATP 250 event. As SC says, there will be some happy people behind the scenes in Doha.
It really hard to believe this is a 250, it has a stronger draw than most 500s. And then when you look at the draw for Indian 250, it really does bring serious questions for the atp.
The fact is that ATP gives 250 this these awful countries that players do not want to visit, and thus the draw for these tourns is soo weak it is a joke. Indian should have challengers, nothing higher. I don't care how much money Indian give to tennis, this is the same reason egypt has 100 futures a year.
It's good that there are events all over the world to help grow the game. I think it brings more questions about rules of the ATP. The world #1 and #2 shouldn't be both allowed to play the same 250 event.

You banging that old drum again, Vandenburg? Does us all a favour & give it a rest, will you?
Novak's level dropped at the end of last year because of personal problems and then Andy started to vulture, taking 250. and 500s to unfairly get the no1 ranking. The ranking system was heavily exposed and was brought into question by many in the tennis world, how can a player that won 2 grand slam, reached the final of another not be world number at end?
Luckily Novak's level is back and he is smashing Doha and will win AO and reclaim his no1 position, which has never been in doubt for 90% of tennis world,(the other 10% being british tennis fans).

This 'vulture" nonsense has previously been ripped apart by people who took a little time to point out the flaws.
You chose not to acknowledge or debate counter points and after a time you come back and repeat it. Such repetition gives it no more credence.
I am certainly not going to waste my time fully replaying some fairly clear counter points other than it is not for Andy to limit further a fairly light and far from full schedule, coming in to the year with just 16 counters ( including just 3 ATP 500s and no ATP 250s from the whole of 2016 ) just because Novak for whatever reasons had a bit lighter, latterly extremely limited schedule

The only credence I need is clear water revival and the fact that Novak is all over Murray in this final as we speak. There is things that the tennis world acknowledges, the computer number one and the real number one, and at times in the past they have been different and once again now.
