In the last year: Maria's doping, Vika's a mother, Ana's retired, Angie's world #1, Petra thankfully survived a horrible encounter, Johanna's a top 10 player and now Serena's engaged, too!
2016 has been an 'interesting' time around the world, and nowhere more so than the WTA.
Best wishes to:
Ana, who managed to get on pretty famously with all of the cliques on tour, and against whom no one has had a bad word to say.
Vika, hoping that her new joy and responsibility will inspire her, and she can return, in time, to the tour and play the amazing tennis she played at the outset of 2016
Angie, to carry the torch as the established foundations of the tour shift and change
Petra, whose strength of character and general reaction to her trauma have been inspirational quite apart from her tennis
Serena, in her impending nuptials, to treasure her whilst she still graces us with her presence on the worlds courts
Johanna, for everything in 2017
All forum members, and all GB players, for more crashing disappointments and glorious highs in the year to come.
