QR1: Ema Lazic UNR, age 17 JCH 62 vs (qwc) Rita Atik (MAR) UNR (CH 759 in April 2014 at age 16), age 19 JCH 123

Ema seeks her third counter in this tournament. Not a great draw though with that QR1 meeting and the winner to play the q2 seed, one of the only 3 seeds / ranked players in qualifying. Hopefully she can continue the good looking form of last week.

Mirabelle Njoze should be in the main draw.

They have played each other twice before, with Rita winning in 2013 and Ema in 2014.

Continuing her good form here over the last couple of weeks, Ema beats the Russian at the same stage as last week, rather more comfortably this time.

FQR: Ema Lazic UNR, age 17 JCH 62 beat (q2) Daria Solovyeva (RUS) WR 1190 (=CH) age 16 JCH 159 6-3 6-2

A decent main draw and she is looking very capable of getting that 3rd counter and a ranking.

Well done to Ema on becoming the currently 36th ranked British woman.

Following a very similar path to last week - same ranked opponent beaten in the FQR, 0 & 1 wins against different young unranked locals in R1 and in R2 facing another seed just inside the top 500. Last week she took that seed to 3 sets.
