And a career high of 14 in Singles. Nice picture on Twitter of the two pairs with Jonny saying it was great to play against the "legend".
Good, if not unexpected, wins today. I know these guys don't like playing against each other, but if you travel together and play in the same tournaments, it is going to happen. Good luck to them both.
What sort of ranking do Scott and Jonny need to start playing Challenger Doubles?
Not sure what ranking they would need, but I think that they both still have singles ambitions and so until their singles rankings are high enough to get them into Challengers, I don't see it happening anyway. It would be interesting to see if one of them made singles at Challenger, whether the other would go along to play doubles. This is very much the situation that Luke B found himself in, with his partnership with Liam.
L16: Scott Clayton WR 712 defeated (5) Jonny O'Mara WR 541 by 6-3 1-0
Hope it's nowt serious. They're still showing on the LS for their doubles QF...
I expect Jonny is just feeling the effects of a long season as he did last week, when he needed physio on a sore shoulder. I hope that is all it is, anyway. If they play their doubles, I think we can be sure it is nowt too serious. Fingers crossed.
Pleased for Scott that he has made a QF, although clearly the circumstances of that are far from ideal.
Jonny's withdrawal today in his final tournament of the year, means that he will just miss out on the Top 500 spot at the end of the season. However, he has has no points to defend in the 1st 3 months of 2017 and only 2 in April, so plenty of potential for some upside at the start of next year.
