Week 49 - Egypt F36 ($10,000) - Cairo (clay)

Given Jay's recent form, that was a pretty tough draw for Robbie. Good to see Willbomb back in action again this week.

Marcus is a set up against the finalist from last week.

6-3 2-2*

Hmmmm - momentum has swung nastily in favour of the Chilean... taken the second set 6-2 and there's been a medical time-out in that set during Marcus' run of losing games, which the scoring suggests was Marcus.

Clearly has an injury, I just hope it's not too serious. You don't go from well ahead in the match to losing 17 out of the next 18 points for no reason.

Marcus now 0-4* down in the 3rd. Fearing the worst with regards to an injury.

From 6-2 2-2, Marcus failed to win another game. I really hope that injury is not too serious just as Marcus was working his way into phase 2 of his career.

Strange that he carried on, though, really....

Hope you're OK, Marcus.

He's playing, won 1st set 6-1 and 2-1 up in 2nd. So hopefully something very temporary with no lasting problems.

Certainly seems a rum do. Hopefully we'll get an explanation via Marcus' Twitter feed later.

OK. Marcus has a possible fractured finger. Still trying to ascertain exactly how it happened. Guessing he has headed off for an X-Ray to confirm, or otherwise, the diagnosis.

Not sure how he managed to get through the doubles, but by all accounts, it was a fairly straight forward victory.

Del Potro played most of the Davis Cup final, didn't he, with a fractured finger? It's obviously more common than one thinks..... :(
