You can come out now Yasmin.  Your boy has only gone and done it.  You must be so proud and rightly so.

What a performance. From a set and 0-3 down, Jay wins 12 of the next 13 games to win his first ever Futures title. This is a victory that he fully deserves given the progress and consistency he has shown over the last few weeks.

Jay Clarke - Take a bow sir.

Aww what a little Champ!!! Very proud firstly for his fighting spirit and secondly the result.. he's had a tough year but kept his head down and focused on what he wants to achieve. Can't wait to give him a big hug when he's home! Well done little man x

Wow that shows so much grit and determination and speaks a lot about his future prospects. How often do commentators (ex-players) say that most top 100 players have the game to win tournaments but it's the mental toughness that differentiates their success levels.

Well done Jay!

Last time I saw him he wasn't that little!!   But well done Jay, that first title is a massive milestone.

I'm guessing that Jay Clarke is now going to be in the top 20 18 and under: number 19 was on 39 points when I most recently looked. Quite an amazing Autumn.

He's also going to be GB #1 on Monday week. OK, in the new race ( points added since 14/11 )  - so perhaps not quite as noteworthy. Still ...

1. Jay C : 24 ( and possible 8 more from the final here )

2. Neil P : 21

3. Cam N : 20

So make that 1. Jay C : 32

And on 47 points in total as well as being top 20 in under 19s he will probably move into the top 100 under 21 as well as a huge overall CH, up over 100 places to somewhere around WR 620 on Monday week.

A good day for the Clarke family - congratulations, Jay Clarke and team!

I went back and tried to work out who had won singles Futures titles at 18 among recent GB players. AM of course, and then Kyle Edmund, Oli Golding, the three Dans (Cox, Evans, Smethurst), Jamie Baker, Alex Bogdanovic, Lee Childs and Mark Hilton. I may have missed someone along the way ... but even so, it's not a bad group to be joining!
