That all seemed to fall away rather, Cam loses 6-2 3-6 2-6

And with apparent Aussie Open qualifying ambitions that may have ended his chances for that especially if he doesn't play next week, and he has not shown on any list.

I'm afraid that's it. Cam just tweeted ...

Cameron Norrie @cam_nozza 12s12 seconds ago

Unreal feeling to be done for the year. It's been a solid one! Back to nzl for summer

Pretty fare assessment really, I hope he enjoys a bit of a break.

Bambo has won the first set 6-3 and is 2-1 in the second and there's now a medical timeout (presumably for Dennis?)

Great to see Farris have some success with Hans.

Being a Sun reader (compliments of my grandad and the fact it is easy to open and read on your paper round and I only had one in my bag of Daily Mails and Telegraphs) and fan of "Dear Deidre".

I am anticipating a letter from Farris any day now.

Hans despite his promiscuity is a serial futures doubles finalist, indeed often a winner with 10 ITF doubles championship notches on his bedpost. Hopefully Farris and Hans will not just be an end of season fling, merely ships that pass in the night but will go on to develop a meaningful and fulfilling relationship.

Am I just a hopeless romantic?

Answers to .... and of course she's open to more Britishtennis.net poster specific problems re Danish keyboard settings or the intricacies of the iPhone 4 to Mrs June Deidre Saunders BSc (University of Sheffield) at problems@desrdeidre.org .

Can we make one correction, which is that it's Julian Lenz, not Benz.

Hard on Dennis Nevolo, and I hope he recovers, but very welcome points for Luke Bambridge. Ryan Shane is underranked, finished university (Virginia) this year - beat Noah Rubin in the university championships in 2015, if I remember correctly, so no mug. But Mr Bambridge has beaten stronger players, so ...

Done!  An inexcusable lapse on my part!

Luke lost the first set in a tie-break. :(

Still close in the second set, though. *3-4
