Got broken back but takes the 2nd set in the breaker 7-6(3). Into a decider.

I suggest a bit of psychological war fare
Time to break out a Snickers and a can of cr*p cola!

QF: Cameron Norrie WR 298 lost to (6) Tennys Sandgren WR 228 (CH 183 in December 2013) 6-2 6-7(3) 6-3

As mentioned Cam's down for next week's USA 25K so hopefully has a good week, ideally winning it. I don't see him down for the following week's USA 25K or anything else that week, which will be the last chance to add points before the Aussie Open qualifying list comes out.

I think the recent injury he suffered during a match may have caused him to miss one or two intended recent challengers, which is a pity if so.

Another close one, but they got there in  the end:

SF:  (4) David O'Hare (IRL) & Joe Salisbury CR 482 (153+329) defeated (WC) Herkko Pollanen & Mikael Torpegaard (FIN/DEN) CR 1429 (714+715) by 1-6 7-5 [18-16]!  smile

Am i right in thinking that Australian Open Qualifying cut off is 12th December? If so then next week will be the last week to gain points towards it, as the points from Futures get applied a week after.

Very nice wins all around. I only saw a bit of the O'Hare/Salisbury on live score, and if I'm honest I gave up after the first set. Super job of coming back!

Excellent for O'Hare and Salisbury to be recovering their team success after the illness issues. And well done to Luke Bambridge and Cameron Norrie. By my reckoning, Luke Bambridge is currently the 7th highest ranked post-1994 player. And Mr Norrie should move into the 500s ... not bad given that this is the fifth counting tournament he has.

It should be 19th December, i.e. 4 weeks before the first Monday of the main draw. But as I said Cam is not down for anything from 5th December, in particular the USA 25K, so unless he gets a WC next week will be effectively his last qualifying week.

Quite a week for David & Joe. A 10-8 MTB, a 17-15 MTB, an 18-16 MTB and the title without even a little match tiebreak.

Perserverance well rewarded and well done too to Luke & Cam.

Joe has risen 116 places in this week's rankings to N° 302 (still some way short of his CH of 211 last December) & David a mere 32 places to N° 147, seven shy of his CH of 140 in September.
