Toby takes the breaker 7-5 having been 3-5 down to win in 1 minute over 3 hours. What a battle. Pleased for Toby but equally gutted for Billy. In my opinion, both players are under ranked by some distance.

That's it for singles action today in Cyprus, but we have no less than 10 Brits in doubles action later. Having said that, "after suitable rest" for Toby and Billy could be defined as Thursday afternoon following their monster singles match.

Blimey! Three hours & one minute! I see Joel was on court for two hours & 22 minutes, too!
Unfortunately, Keelan Oakley came out on the wrong side of one of them, but losing 6-7(10) 6-2 6-4 to the Nº3 seed sounds like an excellent effort.
Bob, I know it seems unlikely & the technology (or, shall we say, the humans who work it?) is by no means infallible, but the ITF live scoreboard has Keelan winning that marathon tie-break by 7-6(40)....

How strange. There was a similar tie break in Hearaklion yesterday

So it does. Wow. I need to get my eyes tested.
Save your strength, Bob. I've now concluded that it's a fault in the scoreboard: I've been updating my draw sheets & the Lebanese, Giovani Samaha, is shown as having beaten a Japanese qualifier by 6-3 6-7(40) 7-6(?) There can't possibly be two tie-breaks won by that margin on the same day, surely?
Safe to say that the singles has gone better than the doubles so far today. Down to the young guns, Ali G and Ewan M to save the day. All they have to do is take out the top seeds. No pressure guys
Having said that, they are already *2-0 up. Vamos.
