Week 46 - South Africa F3 ($10,000) - Stellenbosch (hard)

Well done again to Jay Clarke. I always feel for Futures qualifiers, too - having done so much, it feels as if they should get a point. But next time ....

For every say massive USA four round futures qualifing or three rounds like here there can in places be much more straightforward qualifying. In fact just looking there was only one ranked player in qualifying here, the one and only seed, rather more quantity than quality.

I like win a main draw match to get a point, indeed that very first point for a ranking. Makes it a greater achievement generally.

More to the point, anybody being catapulted from the roof needs to take a bit of luck with them.

And Scholtz next who he has defeated the past 2 weeks... What a fantastic trip this has been for Jay. Hope he can go and play some weak futures at the start of next year and really get that ranking up!

The consistency that Jay has found in the last few weeks is nothing short of amazing. Well done Jay.

I sincerely hope it's not going to be third time lucky for Scholtz!
