Alastair G chalks up you another terrific win, beating Jonny (who has been a semifinalist for the last 2 weeks) by 3&4.

Ewan went down to the top seed 3&2 but that should not deflect from another very good week for him.

Young guns have been on fire recently. It's great to see.

Whatever the final, that's two remarkably good performances from youngsters, so something to celebrate. And I, too, hope you're wrong!

Yes, great week for Alastair and Ewan. What with the pack leader Jay doing his stuff in South Africa, by far the most encouraging senior week to date had by our 1998 juniors, as they will soon officially transition out of the junior ranks.

Alastair jumps up into the GB top 30, overtaking among others Ewan in the process as Jay goes top 20, with both into their SFs.

Experience counts a lot, but also now good to be chalking up these wins and ranking points.

Just to add to the congrats to young Ali G.

And Ewan. And indeed Joel who's only 5 weeks away from being a 1998-er.

And also Alexis on his point. And, indeed, Sean Hodkin (born Oct. 1998) who lost with a very honourable score against second seed Freddie. And James Davis, age 17, who's in the doubles semi.

And most obviously to Jay, for the South Africa thread.

And what I love is to see a surge in the youngsters at the same time as Ed Corrie is finding form and clocking up some good wins. We need both ends of the spectrum.
