NB Ulysse is quite a common name in France (more's the pity). In a small, unassuming village near where I lived, there was a family with three boys named Ulysse, Achille and some other completely preposterous name. All three boys were short, round-faced and looked the exact opposite of Greek heroes, bless 'em.

Just as well, really, since I've never seen any of it! I really don't have the time to read all posts in all the forums on this board.
I'm aware of the popularity of Ulisse as a first name (can't call it a Christian name!) in France (& also in Italy, curiously enough!). It would seem that new French parents are as indifferent to the consequences of lumbering their offspring with outlandish names as Brits, Yanks, Aussies, Kiwis & Springboks these days!
