No sign of injury. Svitolina much more confident now. She served 3 aces in the last game of the second set.

Svitolina is incredibly fast around the court, getting to many shots that would beat many players. And she is hitting winners on both sides. Jo finding it hard to stay with her at the moment.

Final set to Svitolina 6-4.

Was playing really well towards the end of that set, not making errors and punishing anything short. No sign of nerves either.

Just saw the end bit of the match. Svitolina did finish it off confidently. My immediate thoughts re Jo, before the commentator said it, was she looked tired.

Pity, and 240 points leaves her in deficit against the tour final players, all of whom got at least 500 points ( plus allowance for an extra counter ). Indeed they would have got 375 points if they had lost all their group matches.

Still Jo has confirmed end of season top 10 and that is just fantastic !!!

Rest up, recuperate and go for 2017.

What a pity. Jo looked 'tired' when losing at the Olympics and US Open too. Maybe needs to work on improving stamina during the off season

A shame Jo lost today as this week up to and including the first set against Svitolina she had been dominant, and a final against Kvitova would have been a fitting end to a great season. Still a great year beyond anyone's expectations and it will be exciting to see what she can achieve in 2017.

 No she just needs to schedule better. Played too many tournaments this year but she wouldn't have expected to go so deep in so many

No worries; it's been a brilliant year and she can really pick and choose her events next year. If she keeps healthy top 8 and a slam title for Jo next year I reckon :)

 Absolutely true - what odds would you have got 18 months ago for a top ten finish this year.
