Agree, Paul; still pinching ourselves after all those years hoping to see anyone in the top 100 even, eh? :D
And that win guarantees Jo finishes in the top 10 at Year End so Steven can put a number in that column in his chart for the first time since 1983 :D :D :D

Yes, thanks also, blob. Looks a pretty fast court.

Meantime, Zhang and Svitolina win their two group matches to qualify for the SFs.

Garcia beat Stosur to set up a Jo vs Garcia decider.

The Kvitova vs Strycova match will also see the winner progress to the SF.

It's all going to be nice and tidy with no calculations required other than 2 wins beats 1 win and no wins.

Not yet. Jo & Petra will go into opposite SF as the top two seeds progressing, and there is a draw after the third match of the day (starting at 11:00 UK) to decide who plays Svitolina, and who plays Zhang.
I'd prefer Elina for Jo, as Zhang has looked really good so far, and has been drawing considerable support and succour from the home crowd.
