Danis Dynamite, a big welcome and thanks for the info.
I've put your link in the European League tennis thread too - we have a lot of players in the French league, a few in the German that I know of, maybe others in Italy etc. (don't think we have anyone who follows team tennis in Italy or even that much in Germany)
Yes. Welcome DanisD. Always good to have a newcomer and new perspectives on the board.
You will forgive me however if I say, "Well played Alexis C. That's a good win".
He will be back next week in Barnstaple - congratulations to this Alexis. And by the way - Freddie Nielsen takes the title this week. He always finishes the season well (especially when he is playing in the UK)

That is a nice win for Alexis and although Soren is injured puts into perspective the difference between futures and college tennis.
Obviously Soren made the most of his college opportunity, indeed he may have had little on the junior ITF circuit where as Alexis had plenty but the contrast in their JCH always suggested Alexis stood more than a chance. JCH (46) v (460).
The more I have watched the more conflicted I have become about it's value in that it has made the likes of Soren and Lloyd into challenger players, and obviously suits Cam who has always played at or above its highest level. On reflection I strongly believe it was an opportunity missed for Marcus Willis who at his 17 stone best would have dominated college tennis, it would have been interesting to see how the college coaches would have coped but he would have found an excellent programme and 4 years of close mentoring.

But great to know about Denmark as well !
I promise to post in the European League tennis thread if Glaspool gets the chance to play matches for Skovbakken. Normally "star players" (like Glaspool) only play the semi and the final of the tournament....
Thanks very much, Danis - and as others have said, welcome to the board! Great to have a friendly poster with new information about contexts unknown.
And yes, well done, Alexis Canter. I didn't expect that - not because I don't have confidence in Mr Canter's potential, but because I think a full force Mr Hess-Olesen at his present age would be ahead of Mr Canter at his present age. It's a good win, and one to celebrate. An interesting rest of the draw - well done to all the qualifiers! Aidan McHugh certainly seems, in particular, to be having quite a good Autumn. Unfortunate for the GB players that there are some quite pesky opponents in the bottom half. In the top half, though, there looks to be the potential for some quite nice runs. Nice to see Joel Cannell seeded; great to see Richard Gabb back playing.
Poor old (young) Finn Bass. I am sure he has been looking forward to these GB futures for a while now. Last week he gets the Nº1 seed in R1, and this week he gets the Nº2 seed.
Alexis got a wildcard last week at Loughborough (although Ewan Moore did too and still got one this week).
But at least it means he's not being overlooked, as such (not 100% sure but I get the impression that Alexis has nothing to do with the NTC any more, unlike Ewan, Alastair, Ryan etc.) etc.
Well Alastair has an interesting match up with Aidan and nice to see college standout ......... Mark Whitehouse back, it will be very interesting to see how he moves forward with his tennis.
