Week 44 - ATP Masters 1000 - BNP Paribas Masters - Paris (indoor hard)

Was getting really tense towards the end there but Murray was the better player throughout that decider and Isner really crumbled in that final game. Murray really upped the intensity towards the end.

So happy he won that, feels like he's won the #1 ranking in more emphatic fashion now as well as adding Paris to his collection.

What a brilliant week.

So that's eight titles and four finals from 16 tournaments this year, and now four titles in a row (including two Masters).

It's been a phenomenal year. I hope he can end it with a PB performance at the O2. He's due a final there.

fantastic for Andy Isner played better but lacks mobility on the court -- saw him in Davis Cup last year I don't think he has improved in last 21 months

I don't know he is fabulously mobile for 6'10" a phenomenal athlete when compared to others of that stature and you could argue Andy that in comparison Anys serve lacks pace.

Sorry big serve and occasional  volley no all round game I don't rate him much the same as Karlovic boring boring to watch --- my opinion

I don't think the two of you are necessarily disagreeing, just focussing on different aspects which I agree with.

Isner and Karkovic boring games to watch, personally I agree, more particularly when they play similarish players. I do see some interest in an Andy or Novak taking their 'game' on and generally dismantling it. It can on days when they are serving particularly well, like Isner yesterday, be quite a mental challenge.

But for their frames I absolutely agree with Oakland what great athletes. Also realising from early on the possibilities with a great serve allied to their height they have made their serves huge weapons. Eminently sensible to extract maximum possible advantage from that and overall, considering everything, they have done so well in tennis. Different ways to skin a cat and it's not their job to make it enjoyable to all, even more especially when height does restrict certain abilities.

Of course they are skilled in other areas, just probably not top 100 skilled or whatever. They couldn't get where they are on their serves and occasional volleys alone.
