SF:  (2) Andy Murray WR 2 "defeated" (4) Milos Raonic (CAN) WR 5 by a walkover  hmm

*****

Final:  (9) Marin Cilic (CRO) WR 10 (CH = 8 in October 2014) vs (2) Andy Murray WR 2 (1 on Monday! biggrin )

Andy leads the head-to-head by 11-3.  Cilic beat Andy by 4 & 5 in the final of this year's Cincinnati Masters, but Andy beat him in three in the semi-final at Queen's, their first encounter since the quarter-finals in Beijing in 2014 which Andy won by 1 & 4.  Cilic beat Andy in the Rotterdam quarter-finals earlier that same year by 3 & 4, but his only win before that was a straight-sets win in the last 16 of the USO in 2009!

I guess the excitement of Andy getting to #1 has gone to your head.

Pretty sure Andy will be playing Isner in the final!! :)

Whoops!  I think it must have!   You're quite right!

Final:  John Isner (USA) WR 27 (CH = 9 in April 2012 vs (2) Andy Murray WR 2 (1 on Monday! biggrin )

The head-to-head is even better than with Cilic:  the pair have met seven times since the AO in 2010 & Andy's won every single one, most recently in the quarter-final in Vienna (1 & 3) & the last 16 at Roland-Garros (7-6(9) 6-4 6-3_!  wink

Just saw that. Well done to them and well done on having earlier clinched their place at the 02.

Just 11 return points in total in set 2 ( just about all Isner's 6 in one game when I think he may have had *0-40 ) and it's 6-6, tiebreak.

Isner captures the second set in a tie-break (7-4) to take the match into a decider.

Isner's serving at 80%. If he played like this consistently he'd be unbeatable. Let's hope his level - and that FSP - drops in the decider, or I can't see how Murray can possibly win.

Isner serving at 1st serve 210kph (131mph)
2nd serve 191kph (119mph) AVERAGE speeds, amazing consistency

5 out of 5 Isner first serves in the tiebreak certainly eased life for him.

Andy 1-0*
