as expected the young Zizou Bergs won against Brown. Good game anyway.

Big suprise for the match Moore vs Cox. Cox is losing against no ranked player. I really doubt his willing to win to be honest.

Certainly a surprise, I expected Dan to push on once he'd evidently committed to playing on.

Young Ewan Moore ( 18 yo ) is not unranked, he is WR 1837 from a Latvia MD win in August. And his second point for now will push him a few hundred higher. Tidy game, but clearly would have expected Dan to win. Anyway, well done Ewan.

That's a very decent looking win ( 6-2 7-6(5) ) by Alastair Gray against Joel Cannell.

Another 18 yo and in his case his first ranking point. Seems to be only his second ever senior match following a Surbiton Challenger qualifier loss in June. That really is strangely under exposure to senior tennis.

Well done Luke Oakley, sure does make a difference when umpires and officials are making the calls

Interesting that both Dan Cox and JWH are playing with young unranked partners. Makes it very hard to work out what their chances are - curious since they're bpth amongst the best doubles players in the draw.

No idea about Sean and George but, in doubles, Josh W-H has got to be the favourite against Dan Cox, so it seems that justice was done as:

Josh and George beat Dan and Sean 6-2 6-4

Its nice to see so many GB players.

Anyway, tomorrow plays promising Zizou Bergs which is a Belgium junior talent. He has got a Thornton-Brown Adam which was not playing for a while. Any info about Thornton? How is he now? It seems like it will be his first game since February this year. Is he fully fit?

Thanks :)

Welcome to the board. Adam just plays domestic ITF tour events now, but can be pretty useful on his day.

Yeah, Thanks for letting me know.

I can see there is no many games he played this year, so I am assuming he is only playing itf domestic/leagues games which it is not counted points to ATP/ranking...

I think he got a tough opponent tomorrow

Adam won two London based British Tour Tier 2 events back in the summer.

Dan disputed a call that went against him towards  the end of the first set.  By finger pointing and swearing at Moore he only seemed to agitate himself and this clearly troubled him for the rest of the match.  Still looked very unhappy when playing his doubles match.

Frankly, you'd think someone with Dan's experience, playing an 18 year-old in R1, would manage to deal with one dodgy line call a lot better than that. Not impressive.... But thanks for the match report, Mark

When I read Zizou Bergs I thought it was nickname given to him from the poster due to some resemblance to Zinedine Zidane.

Nope, that's his actual name. Deary me.
