Week 43 - Great Britain F4 ($10,000) - Loughborough (hard - indoor)

In men's futures ( 10K and 25K ) there are no ranking points for qualifying. Players have to win a main draw match to get a ranking point. So any unranked player will need to do this to achieve a ranking.

No sorry, you're fine, and were perfectly clear. It's me not being with it.

I was thinking that they were just at the FQR stage tomorrow in spite of having been shown as winning their FQR matches.

Duh !

Roy entered one of my events in Bristol, he is ex-Nicholls State US college and now a coach at Halton.

So if I am not mistaken Rob Carter can regain a world ranking tomorrow and the following can earn a world ranking for the first ever time...how exciting!

Finn Bass 17 unr
Luke Johnson 22 unr clemson american college
Isaac Stoute 20 unr
Tiran Sanghera 17 unr
Roy Knight 25 unr nicholls state college, now coach
Robert Carter 23 803

Luke is actually ranked now. That is, he will be, guaranteed, as of Monday because he got a ranking point last week in Germany. And Luke has been ranked before. Got to be 1607

Its nice to see so many GB players.

Anyway, tomorrow plays promising Zizou Bergs which is a Belgium junior talent. He has got a Thornton-Brown Adam which was not playing for a while. Any info about Thornton? How is he now? It seems like it will be his first game since February this year. Is he fully fit?

Thanks :)

Welcome to the board. Adam just plays domestic ITF tour events now, but can be pretty useful on his day.

Yeah, Thanks for letting me know.

I can see there is no many games he played this year, so I am assuming he is only playing itf domestic/leagues games which it is not counted points to ATP/ranking...

I think he got a tough opponent tomorrow

Well, that's nice.... Josh W-H is playing in the doubles

As are a couple of others I haven't heard of.

And Paul Jubb and Isaac S have given a walkover so said Adam T-B, from above, with partner, have got through to the quarters

Interesting that both Dan Cox and JWH are playing with young unranked partners. Makes it very hard to work out what their chances are - curious since they're bpth amongst the best doubles players in the draw.

Do you think they could be players that they are coaching?

I think Dan's could be. And Dan has been doing coaching.
Or, at least, Dan played with Sean back in February too.
And they were both in Turkey for the last two ITFs events so I assumed they were together (although they didn't play doubles together)
So either it's a player he's coaching or just a good friend/someone from his club whatever and they went together (or just a coincidence).

I didn't think that Josh was coaching. But maybe....

Big suprise for the match Moore vs Cox. Cox is losing against no ranked player. I really doubt his willing to win to be honest.

Great win by Ewan Moore against Dan C. It makes that quarter of the draw very interesting. Jonny O'Mara is the 4th seed and the other 5 players left in, following defeats for Dan C and Joel, are comprised of 3 WCs and 2 Qualifiers. No pressure Jonny.
