Week 43 - ITF ($50K+H) - Tampico, Mexico Hard

Yes nice win for Katie, this group has been on the road for sometime now so lots of things to manage day to day other than just playing tennis to adjust to.

I have no concerns about CiCi or Sofia doing well. As a junior Katie was not far behind CiCi and a little ahead of Sofia, their success, although it must be frustrating, it really just underlines Katie's potential.

Katie S, with the only break to that point, served for the first set at *5-3, but has just been broken back on her first BP against.

5-4*

Hope she's ok if so past experience suggests she can still do this.

Yay

R2: Katie Swan WR 468 beat (Q) Hanna Chang (USA) WR 643 (=CH), age 18 JCH 107 6-7(7) 7-6(5) 6-4

Katie should take out her June CH 433. Even if things have not always gone as she might have wished this year, she doesn't shrink from a battle.

She will possibly meet (1) Elise Mertens in the QF.

Looks like theMexican is about to come through, so a very winnable match for Freya.
I see both Flink and Arconada are going well in the top half of the draw.

One more win for Freya and she'd be on the cusp on Aus Open Qualies by the looks of the live rankings.

That's a great win for Katie she does like to give her opponent a set start. Looking forward to the QF, I feel Katie is a real threat to the number 1 seed if healthy. Very nice to see Freya progressing without incidence, I can't see her not being at the Aussie open qualifying
