A bit belatedly a summary of Andy's progress to his 41st tour title, a week after his 40th. As per usual plenty more details in the tournament thread in the men's section -
Very good idea wolf. I will add links for this thread and others when I get time on a PC.
I somehow missed the discussion that led to Andy tournament details being subsequently included in general men's tournament threads. When I mentioned this I was pointed to some thread and actually still couldn't see the discussion, but I just let it be as apparently a fait accompli.
However, given this site was originally really about Andy and I think all his tournament details are recorded in the Andy section, certainly for many many years now, I determined that if no one else did I would at least continue to summarise his tournament results in his section rather than have all his latter few years' tournament details less easily brought back from elsewhere. But yes links would be good too, especially given that the bare results can be found in plenty places.
For completeness, I think at least basic ongoing threads in his section are a good idea in itself, quite apart from me personally being such an Andy supporter.
Umm....I was part of the conversation about including Andy in the general men's section. Can't remember now who the other posters were but the gist of the chat was that often Andy is no longer our sole representative at tour level and all the chat about non only-Andy events was taking place in the general men's section. In these circumstances posts regarding Andy's performance seemed to be reduced to a statement of score in his section, most of the general chat about the event being in the general men's section but no chat about Andy in there.
If we were starting things off again now, I imagine we might have separate main tour & Chall/Fut sections instead of Andy & other sections but that's easy to say with hindsight! A nice 'problem' to have though
