Freya holds serve at the start of the second set for 1-0*. Well, I say start of the set, but it was a 20 point game - with NO break points !!

Probably Andreescu next up, who seems to have stepped up to main tour and going well given she is still 16.

Very good from Harriet and that will have her at a new CH. She should be in the 330s with her exploits so far this week.

After seeing her live early this year and an ongoing pretty slow start to the year her performances over the last few months have been a bit of a surprise to me, a very pleasant surprise. Well done, Harriet.

Strangely enough, given she stood out on the domestic stage from a vey young age and seemed to transition well onto the international stage, Harriet to me has always lacked a bit of self-belief in pressure situations.  She always became very cautious in her play and seemed to withdraw into herself and I always felt this would eventualy limit her success.  But the run in qualifying at Wimbledon this year seems to have changed that, especially that match with the never ending 3rd set.  It's rather like a switch has been flicked and she seems now to play so much more freely in those circumstances and is reaping the rewards.

I thought the same about Harriet when I watched her play at Chiswick last year - struggled a bit under pressure, and started getting a bit flustered. Looks like all that is behind her now, and she is making steady progress again.

Interesting. I've never really seen that. Although she definitely seems a little more shy/reserved than some of the others.

I saw her at Surbiton in 2015 and she played two cracking matches, even the really tight one against top-100 player Hsieh. Remember coming back and waxing lyrical on this site (she has a great physique for tennis too which always helps).

The Wimbledon qualis were obviously a delight....

Although it's true that when she beat Ozaki, the crowd were going wild (for a British crowd) and Harriet just she looked a touch pink and flustered, and I thought 'come on, lass, turn and smile for the crowd, give a little wave, little fist pump, whatever' but I think she was a bit embarrassed and it's not really her.

That's now 7 TBs in a row won by Harriet, which is good competitiveness.

During this period she lost that Wimbledon FQR final set 13-11. I have always said Wimbledon should have final set TBs !

Harriet served for the set at 5-4. But got broken.

And then blew her wonderful tie-break record by losing the TB 7-6(4)
