Week 42 - Challenger ($50,000+H) - Las Vegas, NV, USA (hard)

Which is 2-1 with Mr Klein leading on serve. I've watched the last two games, which have not shown Frances Tiafoe in his best light. Can't seem to find a first serve much of the time, and his second serve needs a lot of work. Looks a bit tired. Mr Klein playing well.

Edit: Now 2-2, with the last game being quite different, as Mr Tiafoe improved considerably. Mr Klein still playing well - has hit two really fine lobs to win points. That's it for me, though ...

Now counted 6 penaltys given out by the umpire, 4 for Tiafoe, 2 for Klein.

Yes. Frances looked a bit dejected towards the end. He shouldn't really have lost that second set like he did.

But well done, Brydan - he played some decent tennis along the way.

Tiafoe going to shake the umpires hand and then taking his hand away at the last second wasn't cool.

Believe it or not, that's the *10th* 3rd set in a row Brydan has won in singles

Interesting, if Brydan + had won this doubles, they'd have been through to the next round as Struvay/Falla defaulted. struvay defaulted after 2 sets of his singles too.

Anyone know what this is about?

If you default from one event you automatically get defaulted from the other. No idea what the original default was for.

That's a brilliant win for Bryden.

I think stating a player has peaked at 22 is a bit premature to be honest. Players can develop weapons later in their careers and with the peak age in the early 30s in this day and age there is plenty of time in Liam's career to develop into a top 100 player.
