I see Tucker Vorster got the LL spot even though he retired from his match with Liam. I'm sure it has happened before, but personally surprised that someone who retired from a match is eligible.

Can't get much closer than 81 points each but it's another early exit for Liam. Since the Asian swing earlier this year he has not had the best of luck with draws but with that said he is now on pace to finish outside the top 300 in roughly the same rankings spot as last year. I am no expert but having watched him I am not sure what he could change to improve his results and I am afraid his surge inside the top 200 of a couple of years ago might have been his peak already.

Hate to say it but I fear you may be right. Watching him against Andy at Wimbledon this year I just couldn't see that he had enough weaponry in his game to step up into the big league.
Having lost the first set, the second was really close until - right at the end - Frances played a horrible game, with 2 DFs (I think) and nothing else any better.
So Brydan took the second set 7-5 and they're into a third.....
