Sorry everyone, but I have to post again. I am still buzzing after that result, which has cheered me up no end after a long 28 hours on the road which included an aborted flight from Lisbon. About 25 minutes into the flight we turned back to Lisbon because of "technical difficulties", where we were greeted by a bunch of fire trucks on standby as we landed. I was pretty stressed as I'm sure you will imagine, so Kyle has helped me relax and take my mind off things. Thanks Kedders.
No peace for the wicked though, or even this young (cough, cough) budding tennis reporter. Early night now and then off to La Manga tomorrow to try and catch up with Leon Smith who is coaching there this week. I need a Bob Scoop. Haven't had one in a while. Watch this space.
Any advice on how to sleep when the adrenaline is still pumping would be gratefully received.
What brillliant news! I left home as they got to 6-6 - what a time to have to leave, but I'd already left it as late as I dared! Heard the result on the radio on the way home! Soooooo pleased for Kyle!!!
My ATP/WTA live scores app stopped working for a bit with Ferrer serving for victory at 5-4 so when I checked later I fully anticipated the worst. My mouth literally dropped open when I saw the result!
So Kyle Edmund has, in the space of roughly seven weeks, vanquished Richard Gasquet, John Isner, Evgeny Donskoy, GGL, Roberto Bautista Agut, Federico Delbonis, and David Ferrer ... among others. It'll do. (My attempt at Yorkshire understatement)

At last the coaches in La Manga have given up and are getting Leon in for the ultimate challenge; to sort out Bob's game! winning the Davis Cup is a mere blot on the landscape in comparison

Trust me. Even Leon is not good enough for that. Did manage to chat with Leon today though, and also with Nick Weal who was here too. Nick played in the end of week exhibition match that they have after every coaching week.
Whilst Kyle marches on here in Antwerp, Sñr Bautista Agut, whom Kyle beat 2 weeks ago and who beat Djokovic last week, gets bundled out in R2 (he had a Bye in R1) in Moscow by a QWC. The young Russian, Bublik, having been given a WC into qualies, came through that and is now in the QF of the MD with a ranking of 266 which is a CH.
