I only caught the last few games once I realised it was on bet365 (glad the tweets weren't for nothing too if the addict was following them!) and Kyle played really, really well - breaking Ferrer when he served for the match and then the 2nd point in the tiebreak when he battered Ferrer with fearhands, first off the ground then at the net, to get the first mini-break were particularly impressive!
That win equals Kyle's career best ranking scalp (Gasquet, also WR 15, at the USO) and takes him into his 4th main tour singles QF of the year - he lost the others to Berdych and Andy (twice), this one looks more winnable:
L16: Kyle Edmund WR 43 beat David Ferrer (ESP) WR 15 (CH 3 in 2013) by 6-1 3-6 7-6(3)
QF: Kyle Edmund WR 43 v Andreas Seppi (ITA) WR 100 (CH 18 in 2013)

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
So Kyle Edmund has, in the space of roughly seven weeks, vanquished Richard Gasquet, John Isner, Evgeny Donskoy, GGL, Roberto Bautista Agut, Federico Delbonis, and David Ferrer ... among others. It'll do. (My attempt at Yorkshire understatement)
Wow. What a result. I followed as best I could on the train down from Madrid, but once I got to Alicante, I was driving. I knew it had gone to 1 set all, but the next I knew, Kyle was MP in the tie break. This is just fantastic.
Since DC, I make it that Kyle is 9-2 (including qualies) and the two defeats are Andy and Stan. I don't think we could ask for more than that, especially as there have been some very good scalps in there as well (edit See Spectator's post above. Thanks Spectator). Today's may just be the best of the lot.
Anything could happen from here. There is nobody in the draw for Kyle to fear. If Kyle makes it through and the rest goes according to seedings, he will play Seppi, Gasquet and then Goffin. Got to get past Seppi though first. Trust me to look too far ahead and then tell others not to LOL.

Only following on tennislive and thought it was going away from him but yet again Kyle performs in the tie breaker.. His ranking is certainly lagging his form. What a player he is becoming..
