After several years of weekly $10K tournaments I was quite surprised to see the extra zero. After checking the entries and finding a couple of top 100 players and half a dozen other top 200 players I concluded they really had jumped from the lowest level ITF to the highest level.

I can't help wondering if some of the players were also confused - you can just imagine them on the line to the ITF 'but is this a 100K??? a one HUNDRED k ??? Are you sure???'

It's not the first time there has been a 100K in Sharm - there was one in 2013 too, though the closest I could remember without checking was a 25K in 2014, when Naomi and Tara played each other.
