Darn, but Niculescu is clearly one very good doubles player.

A pity that a very good week couldn't go at least one stage further. Rather remarkable first set score. But in doubles if you can regroup you are always just a set and a MTB away from turning it right round.

And they could really have done with pushing up their overall ranking score even further in this final regular WTA tour week, as they threaten yet again to be toying with yea or nae as to getting into a Slam. Maybe they can do damage in November WTA 125s, they do seem in the form to do so.

With her 14 FQR points ( net 11 ) Tara has risen 12 places to a new CH, WR 162.

In doubles, with their 110 SF points ( net 109 ), Anna is up 5 places to WR 85 and Joss up 6 to WR 86.
