Joss and Anna had points for a 62 52* lead, but lost the second set 7-0 in the tie-break. A double fault gives them 2 match points at 9-7* in the MTB, but both are saved.

Fantastic! After a bit of a meh season, this is a really nice boost. They were under huge pressure throughout, winning a heap of deuce service games, which if they'd lost early on could have resulted in the match running away from them.

Held their nerve at the end. Great stuff!

Yes, certainly I have the impression of better form again in the last few months with some good wins and various close losses against well ranked opponents. Well done.

To face either Niculescu/Tig (276) or Weinhold/Whoriskey (341)

Monica is a very good doubles player (18) but still has 3 hours before she plays her singles today, and then has to fit doubles in after that!

 Caroline Wozniacki gave her a walkover for her singles,, doubles due at 7.15 local time, everyone's first game today.
