FQR: Ben Jones UNR beat (q4) Jakob Arvidsson Ehn WR 1646 (=CH) 6-3 1-6 6-4

L32: (6) Ed Corrie WR 332 v Milos Sekulic (SWE) WR 828 (CH 643 in 2014)
L32: (Q) Ben Jones UNR v Isak Arvidsson (SWE) WR 505 (CH 489 in 2014)

H2H 2-0 - Ed edged Sekulic 4-6 7-6 7-6 in R2 on his way to the title here in 2014 (in fact, given that he went out to James Marsalek in the QFs last year, Ed hasn't lost to a non-Brit here before) then beat him 4 & 3 in Shrewsbury this year.

Worth adding that Ben Jones is a junior, born 1998.

(As indeed is Jakob Arvidsson, the guy he beat).

Well done, Ben - making the main draw of a 25k event is very good.

Is Isak related to Jakob? (In the Arvidsson family rather than in the Bible?)

Yes, they might get a big turnout from the local Indian food lovers for a Madaras-Corrie marathon

Falun 25K R1: The Madaras-Corrie match is over & 6th seed Ed comes away with the win(daloo?), 3&1

Off to find a hole to bury myself in!

Yes, Ed got the win(daloo) in the Madaras-Corrie match - possibly the spiciest encounter since Rogan-Josh (that's Rogan Egerton v Joshua Page) in Ilkley qualies a few years ago

A quick catch up:

L32: (6) Ed Corrie WR 317 beat Milos Sekulic (SWE) WR 826 (CH 643 in 2014) by 3 & 3
L32: (Q) Ben Jones UNR lost to Isak Arvidsson (SWE) WR 508 (CH 489 in 2014) by 1 & 2

L16: (6) Ed Corrie WR 317 beat Dragos Nicolae Madaras (SWE) WR 721 (CH 713 last week) by 3 & 1

QF: (6) Ed Corrie WR 317 v (1) Jurgen Zopp (EST) WR 240 (CH 71 in 2012)

Ed should have good memories of playing Zopp in Sweden - both of their previous meetings took place there in 2014 and he beat Zopp 0 & 4 in SFs on the way to the title here in Falun then beat him from a set down in the Jönköping final to make it back-to-back titles the week after!

Lokoli is the Corsican Frenchman against whom Ed lost 7-6(4) in a third-set tie-break a couple of weeks back, when we all thought that Ed had clinched it, when the gizmo died.....

And then rubbed salt in the wound by going on to win the whole tournament.....

But that was in France. Time for a change of fortunes...
