OK, stat experts. Help me out here. I am looking at Live rankings which have Kyle up 43 points this week and I can't work out why. Kyle has 20 points from qualifying and a further 45 from his win today. That's 65 points. He will lose his 18th best score which is a 10 pointer so by my calculations he should be up 55 points, not 43.
Kyle's 17th best counter is 12 points so if that were to drop out too, it would give us the 43 points that Live Rankings are claiming, but I can see no logical reason why that would drop out as well at this time. Is it because the 12 pointer will also drop off next Monday as the Shanghai ATP 1000 is a compulsory and will be included whether Kyle wins any points or not ? Surely that shouldn't happen until the following week.

The total in the live rankings is just wrong, I think. Well spotted that the explanation might be that they have taken out his 17th best score too but, as you say, there's absolutely no reason for them to be allowing for next week yet.
I wonder if they've done the same with any of the other players, though I can't be bothered to check unless it looks like it might end up affecting whether he's done enough to be in the top 50 next Monday.

Thanks. At least I am not going gaga - or if I am, I'm not the only one LOL.
There is a big gap between Kyle in 48th and Benoit Paire in 47th, so if Kyle is going to go any higher this week, he is going to have to make the semis at least, and that would mean having to beat Andy - unless of course, someone else beats Andy first.
If we are talking about live-tennis.eu, who I see have the offending "+43", then they do have history of getting their knickers in a twist when qualifying points are involved. Though here +43 only makes sense if you just have 8 for qualifying ( rather than 20 ) which has no rhyme nor reason.
Taking off Kyle's 17th counter of 12 in this week's live rankings would just be weird especially as Kyle isn't ( and won't be ) a direct entrant to the Masters so it might not end up coming off at all even the following Masters week ( hopefully it will ! )
Or I'm going gaga too !
Edit : I see that Kyle is shown as going to 923 or 1333 points if he wins a further round or the whole tournament respectively, which is what he would be on without any qualifying points at all.

Saw a bit of the Batista Agut match and Kyle must have a real chance. The Milkman cam from a set and a break down to push the match into a third and went two breaks down and broke once and had chances to level it.
