10 points ahead of Cibulkova and so inside the top 8 :D
Yes, since it is so close with Cibulkova ( and apparently some conflicting info ) I went and counted it all out.
To confirm:
8. Konta 3455 ( 16th counter of 55 )
9. Cibulkova 3445 ( 16th counter of 100 )
( these 16th counters could matter since they can only add net points above these counters in the remaining two weeks )
#10 Suarez Navarro and #11 Kuznetsova are a fair way back with Kuznetsva's ranking score going to drop down more in line with her race position when her 470 Moscow WTA Premier title points from last October come off.
Oh Jo, just go and add a further 350 by winning the title here. That would propel her up to race #6.

on Live Rankings website it says 8th just behind Keys and ahead of Cibulkova but on BT Sport they had her 9th, Keys 8th and Cibulkova 7th so not totally sure
One of the media people asked me about this - he had different points totals for Jo and Domi (with the latter ahead) but was adding 65 instead of 10 for Domi and not realising that she had to drop a counter in order to include the mandatory score - it is a bit confusing that the Road list seems to include points that are certain to have to come off when there's still a mandatory left to play.

It must be quite unusual for GB to have a finalist in both mens' and womens' events of a major tournament at the same time.
David Law on 5 Live / Tennis Podcast asked a similar question, though fortunately for me, he asked about winners rather than finalists.
We certainly haven't had men's and women's singles winners at the same main tour event since 1980 and, having cross-referenced tournament wins for Brits who were in the top 100 for any length of time in the 1970s, I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened in the Open era.
The last time I could find (without knowing for certain if this really was the last time) was the Surbiton Grand Prix event in 1966, when Winnie Shaw & Keith Wooldridge won the singles titles. The men's event was definitely the equivalent of the main tour back then and the list of winners of the women's event makes me think it was the equivalent of main tour too - if not, Billy Knight and Ann Jones won Bournemouth in 1964, so that's another possibility. Pre-Open era records are very sketchy though.
The last time it happened at a *really* big event was when Fred Perry and Dorothy Round won the singles titles at Wimbledon in 1934.
Of course, for any of these 'records' to get taken out, JoKo has to beat Radwanska, what won't be easy to put it mildly!
Either way, I am full of admiration for what JoKo has achieved this year, especially the way she not only jumped to such a high level at the AO but has maintained it ever since
I wonder what odds you could have got on her being top 10 at some point in 2016 when she drew a blank in the pre-AO tournaments in January. The answer of course, is probably no odds at all, because nobody would have even contemplated the possibility!

Yes, Domi has gone 50 points backwards in the race this week, which isn't very racey! Jo had 30 points to drop as well, but has more than covered those ( just a bit )
The ATP appears to restrict race counters to allow for mandatories left, which as you suggest kinda makes sense.
I have often thought that the best bits of ATP rankings combined with the best bits of WTA would be pretty good, but then no-one would agree what these are.
Thanks for all the research Steven, we do seem to be in a bit of a golden era for British Tennis. We now need the younger players to move up to be ready to take over and maintain a leading position in future years. The next big challenge for the ladies must be to match the men and win the Fed Cup.

Wonder what odds we might get of Britain having the mens and womens world number 1 at the same time? 2017 is looking very exciting right now.
Jo lost 4 & 2. Closer than the score suggests but Aga played very smartly as always. Thought Jo over pressed a bit in the 2nd set causing a few unnecessary errors but overall thought she played well.
I see Cibulkova apparently not playing this coming week. Evidently she's getting over a mugging, which occurred while she was going along minding her own business and looking forward to a week in Singapore. Two women by the names of Konta and Keys are believed responsible.
Domi though could still recover by next week and if she shapes up well she could still be allowed to go and enjoy herself in Singapore. Alternatively, she may just be allowed along to hang around some tennis matches.

Aga has been in form all week, and Jo doesn't have the game to just overpower her, so it was always going to be a tough match. A great week and Jo will have gained a lot in experience from a run in a major tournament, plus lots of points to move up to 8 in the very close race rankings.

She's taken a wildcard into Linz. Plays Bencic in the first round.
