So good to get the insider's view - thanks Phil. I'm sure your crowd support is very much appreciated by the team as well as the forums. Praying for a home tie but hope that venue is big enough. Is it like Davis Cup where you can keep 90% of the tickets for the home team?
Without knowing how the ranking points work, I am going to make a guess that Canada will overtake Chinese Taipei leaving Italy, Australia, Romania and Canada as the four seeds.

Spot on, seeds now announced as you predicted !
Now that we know for sure, I would be happy with 5 of the 8 possible draws; Canada H/A, Italy H/A and Australia H. Obviously a home draw is better but even more important is finally making it to WGII. Also, the prospect of a weekend away in Italy in April doesn't sound too bad.
Also, thanks for the reports Phil. It sounds like there was as much going on in the stands as there was on the court at times!
Thanks Phil, great reporting and drama indeed both on and off court.
Quite a call for Anne with the doubles selection for the ultimately decisive match in her first time as captain. So glad it came off for everyone there, team and supporters.
Disappointing to hear about these Croat supporters making such a noise, we can't be having that sort of stuff

how does the home away element work? Is it based on last time and, in the case of these 4 possible opponents have we ever played them home or away ie it will be a straight 50/50 toss up to play at home or away versus whoever we draw?? Cant help but feel Romania and Italy would take us on clay and dont fancy that. Canada or Australia away would be manageable although a trip to Oz in April would be a real journey to make. Lets hope all round it is a home draw whoever we play!
