Yes. Liam finally converted a BP (his 7th) to lead *3-2 but it was the worst thing he could have done. It sprung Ed into action and Ed went on to win the next 4 games.

QF:  (5) Ed Corrie WR 336 defeated (1) Liam Broady WR 279 by 6-7(5) 6-3 6-3  biggrin  bleh

*****

SF:  (5) Ed Corrie WR 336 vs (7) Mats Moraing (GER) WR 366 (CH = 364 last week)

I sincerely hope Ed doesn't come a cropper there.

And Ed takes it 6-3 in the third. Shame for Liam who can't get any momentum going, but turning into a decent couple of weeks for Ed.

Ed ran out the winner 6-7(5) 6-3 6-3

No divided loyalties here on. And Ed has so little to defend in the coming months ( 3 before the end of the year and 7 in total before late February ) that he has an opportunity to majorly climb the rankings.

Today's win takes Ed to 5th in the GB year-to-date (1 Jan 2016 onwards) rankings, i.e. ahead of Cam, Liam, Lloyd and the two Wards.

Yes, I'd noticed that Ed  ( though GB 9 in the 300s had gone ahead of Cam for ( beyond our top 4 ) most guaranteed points with regards to Australian Open qualifying ( Ed 153 now and hopefully more to come and move closer to the 200 region ), which will tie up very closely to YTD points.

I did start an Aus Open qualifying thread, which I intend to update every week or two. But any additional info welcome there such as likely / historical Aussie Open Q cut.

Always unfortunate when both could very much do with a win. Now if Ed could go on to win the title, maxing out possible points for both players combined, you couldn't really complain!

Hi Steven - I dont keep too close to the detail and rely on live rankings etc, they show the 5-8 GB places as below :ie Ed takes over from Liam in ytd if he reaches the final. I know they get things wrong so have they miscalculated if you think he is really #5 instead of #6? Whichever, these 4 are incredibly close in the ytd "Race" rankings. (is the difference to do with fact you count from Jan 1st whereas I think ATP start the race from end of previous season ie November?

Not Steven but yes the difference is Steven's YTD figures for the top 25 tables are points added from 1st January whereas the ATP race started with points added 16/11/15 ( excluding the 2015 ATP Tour Finals )

There is one error I spotted in these live race figures ...

Ed is on 138 in the official race rankings at 26/09/16. In the above he has had 16 added, whereas it should be 18 ( 10 for last week's 25+H SF plus 8 so far for this week's 25K SF ), therefore 138 + 18 = 156 rather than 154.

So actually in the live race Ed is one point ahead of Liam with Cam and Lloyd each a further two points back, indeed all extremely close.
