Australian Open 2017 qualifying points

Lisicki out and Mitu likely to withdraw (wrist in a cast/bandage) so Laura is next in line for a place in qualies as things stand I believe. Hope she squeezes in.

Not the right thread for this but what do you think considering rankings would be Murray's worst possible draw, is this possible?

F-Novak
SF- Stan or Roanic
QF-Nishikori
L16- Nadal/Federer
L32- Dimitrov

No, as a top 8 seed, his L32 opponent would be a 25-32 seed, and as a top 4 seed, his L16 opponent would be a 13-24 seed, so I would say his worst case scenario (ignoring unseeded players) would be

L32: Querrey (Andy should beat whoever is here easily but I'd say Querrey is most likely to cause an upset)
L16: Federer (Dimitrov and Kyrgios also scary possibilities)
QF: Nishikori/Nadal
SF: Wawrinka/Raonic
F: Djokovic

Yes, not the right thread, but it is where it is now ( I apparently can't split off individual posts, just merge full threads )

Kounosuke is right about the seeding brackets. I see that Brisbane last and this year looks like it will shake up some Monday 09/01 rankings ( on which the seedings will be based ) around the top 16 mark, though that does leave all Kounosuke's round by round concerns as possible - they do look about as bad as it can get. We appear to be going to have :

15 ( up 2 from 17 ) : Dimitrov - Brisbane winner 2017
16. ( down 1 from 15 ) ; Pouille
17. ( down 1 from 16 ) : Federer - Brisbane runner-up 2016

So Dimitrov is is still not a L32 option, but remains a L16 option. Federer could be met in the L16 or QF depending on which 9-16 seed he is bracketed with in the L32 ( joy for that 9-16 seed - we could actually have a (9) Nadal vs (17) Federer L32 match ! ). Nadal, yes could be met in the QF, but not the L16. My 'Nadal vs Federer' winner would be bracketed against a 5-8 seed in the L16.

Clearly assumes all present and correct in the possible seeds. Monfils ?

When was the last time there was not a single GB man in AO qualifying? Anyone know?

But remember the glass is half full in that we have 4 men in the main draw!! Including the world number 1 and a 22 yr old in the top 50.
I feel it is a brief hiatus and hopefully next year Cam, Lloyd and Brydan perhaps also Liam will feature, the quailes still hold some interest on the ladies side.

Not an Andy full house but pretty good effort !

L32: Querrey

L16: Pouille / Isner

QF: Nishikori / Berdych / Federer

SF: Wawrinka / Cilic / Tsonga / Kyrgios

F: Djokovic
