Yes - Alicia's second counter after last week's points.(also Eden Richardson's second counter)

Results going as expected. It would be nice if Alice Gillan could pick up a counter

We now have a trio of second counters with Hannah coming through in straight sets.

Eden's match is proving interesting. Took the first set, was 1-4 down in the second when there was a MTO (not sure who), pulled it back to 4-5, but just lost the set 4-6

Eden's match was always quite tricky, in my view - I know paulisi had her down for a win and she obviously made the final last week but her opponent is definitely one of the stronger 'lesser ranked' players. (Far stronger, on paper, than Alicia's or Louise's opponents, for instance).

But do hope she's not injured ...

Some big runs of consecutive points there, I thought it might have been the other girl who was injured.

Poor Eden. It seems it was her. She has just retired, 3-4 down in the third. Last week must have taken its toll....

Alice had 8 Break Points in the second set but just couldn't quite find a way to capitalise, only managing one of them.

She lost 7-5 6-2.

But Eva's no muppet on a tennis court and I hope Alice feels positive about her week.

Eden Silva and Emily Appleton have withdrawn from the doubles :(

So Alicia Barnett and Dominique Covington get a walkover into the second round

Except that I'm pretty sure it's not raining there! No idea why play is delayed though.
