Yes, it was a french physio. But other niggles (leg, back, stomach) slowed her recovery down. She was playing well at Sutton though against Alicia Barnett, so hopefully she will get a decent draw here and pick up a point or more.
Yes tough time for Lucy and so many say she has got a good game that it is pity she hadn't been able to progress. As it is two of her remaining three counters come off on 24/10 and 31/10 so realistically she needs a couple of fresh counters just to keep a ranking.
Lauryn is the one confirmed Brit into the main draw currently on two counters so one away from a ranking. Certainly has real talent.
No Olivia Nicholls or Megan Davies. I wonder if Emma Hurst, Eden Silva and Laura Sainsbury have all got in by right so Emma and Laura's WCs have been reassigned ( and not needed by Eden ). I would certainly think that Emma has got in.
Emma Hurst is definitely in, so her wildcard looks like it has been re-allocated, probably to Eden S or Olivia.

With her reassigned WC, Megan Davies is also one counter away from a ranking.
Lauryn and Megan have R1 draws against Laura Sainsbury and (6) Victoria Larriere (FRA) respectively. Lucy has drawn Beth.

On the face of it not bad. 5 of the seeds drew a fellow pesky and the only one of our 6 ranked players to draw a seed was Emily App ( our highest ranked ) drawing seed 5.
Not that the Brits were too bad at seeing off seeds last week in a number of good results.
Not a bad set of matches for the GB girls. Brontė, Megan and Emily App have the toughest draws.
I think Lauryn will be too strong and get her third counter. I also think Hannah might turn over Emma and both Eden's will win.
Louise Holtum is an interesting player. Very streaky, but when she is on it, she will cause good players problems. Tends to get tight in key points and throws in a group of games with lots of UE's, but I wouldn't, be surprised if she won.

I wonder why Olivia is not playing singles?
I was really pleased that Louise defeated Mpukusa who has a very angular, jerky game that is actually quite unpleasant to watch. And she's got a good draw, against a player who's barely won a match these past 6 months, despite playing a lot. But I've seen Louise play several times now and don't think her tennis stands out, even when she's playing well. However, she's a good uni player, wish her well (I think she graduated this year??? But may have got the year wrong)

Not sure if she's graduated this year but has certainly been attending and representing Loughborough. In last years BUCS (the UK national uni sport event) final, she was runner-up in the dubs partnering Olivia Nicholls and winner this year with the same partner (in both cases their opponents were Emma Hurst and Natasha Starling of Bath).
R1: MURGETT, Bronte (GBR) (Q) UNR lost to YEROLYMOS, Margot (FRA) [2] 406 CH=379 1/8/16 6-1 6-2
NB French sites have Margot being top 300 within the next 6 months.
Alicia served for the match at 6-1 5-4 but got broken.
Em App lost the first set 4-6. But had set points at 5-3. Served for the set at 5-4. Then broke again at 5-5. And is serving for the set for the secodn time.
Liebens obviously got turned over by Gemma last week - she must be feeling a bit nervous against youngsters/in general. Would be nice in Emily could rattle her.
EMily failed once again to serve out the set, and the tie-break was VERY tight, but she ended up winning it 7-6(7) ! (Saved at least one MP, maybe more).
Now, fingers crossed, for Liebens to have her 'on no, not again' wobble moment.....
Emma Hurst surprised some by losing so easily to Alicia last week (which was a bit unfair on Alicia, really). But can't be feeling very confident. Whereas Hannah McC had a blast last week, and must be feeling good. You'd think Hannah would be the favourite. On serve, 3-2, to Hannah.
