Week 39 - Vietnam F6 ($10,000) - Thu Dau Mot City (hard)

All Bob's finger-crossing seems to have worked:  Joel's made it into the main draw, though it hasn't been released yet.

L32:  Joel Cannell WR 1266 (CH = 1111 in July) vs (WC) Trinh Linh Giang (VIE) UNR

He'll almost certainly have to face the Japanese second seed, Makoto Ochi, if he wins that one.

The same could have been said last week, but Ochi retired in his R1 match.

Overall, it has been a terrific three weeks for Joel in Vietnam. He has picked up 12 ranking points and I am sure we would all have settled for that at the start of his trip. Even his losses, which have all come against much higher ranked opponents, have been very competitive and today's scoreline was no exception.

Well done Joel. Safe trip home and prepare for the next adventure.
