Yorkshire were 349-9 needing 350 for a batting point for them to stay in it (assuming Somerset would win which at the time they hadn't although well in control) and Sidebottom looked like he was absolutely plumb LBW but the umpire didn't give it and replays showed he had a got a very small inside edge.
To clarify Yorkshire wouldn't have been out of it at the time if Somerset had got to 400 and the last batting point as Yorkshire still could have got to 400 themselves, but they didn't. Yorkshire were a point ahead of Somerset going into the matches so just needed to match what Somerset did and win, but that was perhaps a harder task with Somerset playing already relegated Notts and Yorkshire playing the leaders.
I think Middlesex got very lucky by not bowling Yorkshire out for under 350 which they were trying to do!!
Well done Middlesex - didn't see that result coming.
I believe there were 7000 at Lords. Must be one of the biggest crowds at a championship match for many a year.( Edgbaston got a huge crowd when Lara got 400 many moons ago)
