Brengle proving to be an unlucky opponent for Brits to play as Heather follows Laura this year in not being able to get through a match against her.

Great start for Jo. Previously she has been a bit slow to start after a few weeks off but no such problems here.

Zhang played quite well, but couldn't finish off a lot of points she set up. Jo was good enough, but not outstanding in any area.

Some quality stuff, good serving, but errors, uncharacteristically on the BH side, from Jo on multiple occasions when she has opened the court up for the final winner, so has not been able to break.
Close with Johanna edging the play so far, and having had the only BP. 4-3*

Three bad points from set point up. The ballooned second serve forehand return on set point was particularly terrible.

Very close match this one, Jo needs to be careful, she's just about on top because she's been serving well, but Carla is absolutely ready to snatch a break if she gets an opportunity.

Good game to break for the set. Impressive resolve and tenacity. Was the marginally better and more forward looking player throughout, deserved the set.
69% 1st serve, 88% won. 36% won on second. Both stats tailed off in the late part of the set to arrive at the final mark.
